How the Short-Term Disability Program Works
  • A taxable benefit of 60% of covered pay will be provided to eligible Associates during disability due to illness or injury.

  • The program is a 13-week disability period which includes an elimination period of 14 calendar days followed by up to 11 weeks of disability pay.
    • Available sick leave, personal, or vacation days may be used to be paid during the elimination period.

  • Short-Term Disability payments will continue until the end of the disability but not longer than ninety days following the start of the disability. The ninety day period includes any days for which you elect to use vacation, sick leave or personal days.

  • To qualify for Short-Term Disability, an Associate must be wholly and continuously disabled due to illness or injury, unable to perform the duties of his/her occupation, and not otherwise engaged in any other occupation for wages or profit. The Associate must be under the care of a physician.
